You do not have to have it all figured out

When the conversation changes,
the relationship can change.

Maybe the same disagreement keeps returning. One of you reaches for connection while the other pulls away. You talk about schedules and responsibilities, but the closeness you want feels harder to find.

You do not have to begin with the right words or a clear solution. Therapy offers a place to slow down, understand what is happening between you, and explore a different way forward.

Couples therapy that builds your capacity for connection.

Sungshim Park Loppnow, LMFT

California LMFT license #45663

Sungshim helps couples move beyond repetitive conflict and emotional disconnection toward deeper understanding, trust, and meaningful relational growth.

Her work brings together attachment, relational neuroscience, trauma-informed care, and experiential learning. Rather than focusing only on what to say, she helps you notice what happens inside you and between you when connection becomes difficult.

Growth develops through three connected movements:

Know

Understand the patterns, expectations, and protective responses that shape your relationship.

Experience

Explore new moments of being heard, understood, and connected in the therapy room.

Practice

Bring small, intentional relational skills into everyday life, at a pace that fits your capacity.

Sungshim offers therapy in English and Korean. She is a developer of Immanuel Journaling and co-author of Joyful Journey. When you want to include Christian faith, spiritual integration can be part of the work. It is never a requirement.

For entrepreneurs, executives, and high-achieving professionals.

You may be carrying significant responsibility while finding less room for your relationships, emotional life, or sense of purpose. John's work helps you explore how achievement can coexist with connection, well-being, and spiritual depth.

This is not business consulting or a plan to become more productive. It is a space to become more connected and integrated as a person.

01

04

Spiritual depth

John offers psychotherapy and nonclinical coaching as distinct services. Together, you will clarify which service fits your needs and is appropriate for your location.

Our shared philosophy

Insight matters.
Experience and practice help it take root.

We see growth as more than understanding a problem. Our work also makes room for lived experience, awareness of the body, and intentional practice within relationships.

We draw from relational neuroscience, attachment, trauma-informed psychotherapy, and contemplative approaches. We translate these perspectives into a collaborative process shaped around your goals, history, and current capacity.

Your values matter here. Spirituality can be included when you choose. You do not need to share our faith to work with us.

Real people. Thoughtful partnership.

A few helpful answers

Questions you may be carrying.

Do we need to be in crisis to begin couples therapy?

No. You can seek support when conflict feels overwhelming, when you notice growing distance, or when you want to deepen an already meaningful relationship.

Is Christian faith part of every session?

No. Spiritual integration is optional and shaped by your preferences. We welcome people with different beliefs and those who do not want to include faith in therapy.

What is the difference between therapy and coaching?

Psychotherapy addresses mental-health and relational concerns within a licensed clinical relationship. Coaching is a separate, nonclinical service focused on agreed personal-development goals. Coaching does not diagnose or treat mental-health conditions and is not a substitute for therapy.

Can we work together online?

We offer online services when appropriate. Psychotherapy eligibility depends on where you are physically located during sessions and the applicable licensing requirements. We will clarify your location and the available options before scheduling. Coaching also requires a review of scope and location requirements.

An invitation, not a commitment

Use our Contact page to ask about working together. If you have a preference, mention Sungshim or John in your message. Availability and service fit will be confirmed before scheduling.
